UNFORGETTABLE! - This is an absolutely incredible western journey that covers the Canyonlands and National Parks of Colorado, Arizona and Utah. Discover the colorful canyons, deep gorges, serene lakes, fascinating forests and magnificent monuments, on this extraordinary and breathtaking tour through our nation’s most remarkable areas of the Colorado Rockies. Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE,MISSOURI - Our first day’s journey takes us through Indiana, Illinois and on to Independence, Missouri to overnight. Day 2 - EISENHOWER CENTER - Today, we drive to Kansas with a stop in Abilene at the Eisenhower Center. Here we visit the Presidential Library, the Boyhood Home, the Museum, and place of burial in theMeditation Chapel. Overnight in Colby, Kansas. Day 3 - PIKE’S PEAK - Excitement is in store today, as we motor to Manitou Springs, Colorado and board the Cog Railway for a ride to the summit of Pike’s Peak. In the late afternoon, we drive through the Garden of the Gods, before checking into our hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Day 4 - ROYAL GORGE - BLACK CANYON - Our tour turns south to Canon City, where we begin an adventure of a lifetime, a breath-taking trek across the Royal Gorge Bridge, which is 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River. Next, we travel beyond the majestic Colorado Rockies as we visit the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument. This lovely area is famed for its narrowness, its depth and its gorge formations. Overnight Montrose, Colorado. Day 5 -OURAY - SILVERTON -DURANGO - Today, we drive to Ouray for a short stop in this beautiful little mining town before arriving in Silverton, Colorado, the site of a major silver strike.We have time for lunch and shopping before boarding our coach to drive the “Million-dollar Highway” through some of the most scenic areas of the state on our way to Durango. Tonight, we have included a wonderful western experience at the Chuckwagon Dinner Show in Durango, Colorado. Day 6 -MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK - FOUR CORNERS - Mesa Verde National Park, one of the nation’s major archeological preserves will be our first stop. Here, you will be able to see ancient cliff dwellings, which resemble large apartment complexes, and marvel at the Anasazi Indian civilization that once occupied this remote area. Next we visit the Four Corners Monument, the only place in the country where four states meet. A concretemonument bearing the seal of each statemarks the juncture of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Our lodging for the next two nights will be in Page, AZ. Day 7 - LAKE POWELL - RAINBOW BRIDGE - Today covers one of the major highlights of this wonderful tour. Indescribable beauty will be ours to savor as we take the half-day boat tour on scenic 196-mile long Lake Powell to Rainbow Bridge. We have included a boxed lunch while we enjoy the cruise. The remainder of the day will be free to enjoy the lovely scenery around Lake Powell. Day 8 - GRANDCANYON NATIONAL PARK - This morning, we travel to the rugged North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, where we see endless oceans of color in this gigantic canyon. In the afternoon, we continue on to Kanab, Utah, called “Little Hollywood” because more than 92 movies have been made in this area, as well as episodes of “The Lone Ranger”, “Death Valley Days” and “Gunsmoke.”We overnight in the quaint western town of Kanab, Utah. Day 9 - ZION & BRYCE NATIONAL PARK - Today, we follow the scenic Mt. Carmel Highway through the One-Mile Tunnel to Zion National Park. Its majestic stonewallsmanifest the beauty and magnificence of Zion. After our tour we exit the park in the west and drive to Bryce CanyonNational Park tomarvel at the ‘hoodoos’ and spires left by years of erosion. Overnight in Bryce, Utah. Day 10 - ARCHES NATIONAL PARK - Today, we head to the awesome sights of Arches National Park. Here we enjoy a glorious panorama of timeless, natural landscapes of giant stones, pinnacles, spires and blind arches. Overnight inMoab, Utah. Day 11 - GLENWOOD SPRINGS - VAIL, COLORADO - Our coach heads east today passing through Glenwood Springs, where Doc Holiday, the dentist gunman of O.K. Corral fame, is buried. Later, we make a brief stop in Vail, Colorado, the glamorous international ski resort, and then continue on to the “mile high” city of Denver. Day 12 - PONY EXPRESS MUSEUM - Today, we travel through the fertile farmlands of Nebraska, traveling Interstate 80 along the Platte River.We stop for a visit at SHOCKEY 30 MOTORCOACH TOURS RBraiidngbeow Garden of the Gods CANYONLANDS & ROCKIES COLORADO - UTAH - ARIZONA the Pony Express Museum, before checking into our overnight accommodations in Kearney, Nebraska. Day 13 - ST JOSEPH - COLUMBIA, MO - We continue across Nebraska, through Lincoln, the capital city, and on to St. Joseph, Missouri for a stop in this historic city to review its legacy of wagon trains and the Pony Express.We have included a tour of the home of Jesse James and see the bullet hole from the fatal shot that killed him. Next we continue on to Columbia,Missouri to overnight. Day 14 - HOME - This morning we head back to the Bluegrass State, with our suitcases full of souvenirs and our memories ready to be shared with family and friends. If ever there was a tour that shows “America the Beautiful”, this has been it!Meals: 7B, 1L, 1D
