Alabama gracefully combines the history of the 19th century with the power and promise of the 21st! Join us as we blast off into space on this new and exciting Alabama getaway

Day 1 – THE MIRACLE WORKER – TUSCAMBIA, ALABAMA – A southern welcome awaits us as we travel south into Tuscambia, Alabama, where we overnight. Tonight, we have included a delicious dinner before we attend the remarkable outdoor drama “The Miracle Worker.” This Broadway-style play portrays the childhood of deaf and blind Helen Keller “America’s First Lady of Courage” and her remarkable teacher Anne Sullivan, who taught her to communicate.

Day 2 – NASA MARSHALL SPACE FLIGHT CENTER – This morning, we visit NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama for a look inside the nation’s space program. We’ll learn about the Marshall laboratories and the historic sites where early rockets were tested. Next, we drive to Montgomery, Alabama, where we overnight. We have included dinner this evening.

Day 3 – MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – This morning, we will have a city tour of Montgomery. It is known for being the Confederate Capital during the 1860’s. We will have an included lunch before making our way to Mobile, Alabama, where we spend the next three nights. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 4 – USS ALABAMA – BELLINGRATH GARDENS – This morning, we tour the World War II era USS Alabama, one of our nation’s most historic warships. After an included lunch, we travel to Theodore, Alabama, where we tour the world-famous Bellingrath Gardens. This is a 65-acre estate of year-round beauty that offers, in season, the Bayou Boardwalk, Mirror Lake, the Great Lawn, Asian-American Garden, Butterfly Garden, Formal Garden Terraces and one of the highest rated rose gardens in the United States. Dinner is included this evening. Overnight same hotel.

Day 5 – MOBILE, ALABAMA – We spend the day touring the area around Mobile. We will visit the Greek Orthodox Church on the Malbis Plantation. We then have an included lunch. We will spend the afternoon visiting the Oakleigh Garden District where we will be able to do some shopping before returning to our hotel and an included dinner. Overnight same hotel.

Day 6 – HOME – This morning, we reluctantly head for home, remembering all the historic events and places of the state of Alabama. Meals: 2B, 3L, 5D
