Parents and Grandparents, this exciting and educational tour to “Virginia’s Historic Triangle” provides many opportunities for your children and grandchildren to experience America’s beginnings. From excellent living history museums to boarding colonial ships and talking with 18th century patriots, you will be delighted with this school break adventure in the Colonial era.

Day 1 - LEXINGTON, VIRGINIA - Our tour begins as we head east through the beauty of the Blue Ridge and A l l e g h e n y Mountains on our way to L e x i n g t o n , Virginia to overnight.

Day 2 - JAMESTOWN SETTLEMENT - YORKTOWN VICTORY CENTER - This morning, we depart our hotel and travel to Jamestown, Virginia, the first permanent English speaking colony in North America.We’ll experience life as it was in the old days of the colony and have a chance to board the ships in which the colonists braved the open seas - the “Susan Constant,” “Godspeed,” and “Discovery.” Next, we visit the Yorktown Victory Center, which depicts the history of the Revolutionary War from the Boston Tea Party to the British surrender at Yorktown. After our tour, we check into our hotel for the next two nights inWilliamsburg, Virginia.

Day 3 - COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG - Today will be spent touring historic Colonial Williamsburg. The restoration of the 18th century capital of Virginia is one of the largest and most extensive projects of its type. The historic area includes 88 original homes, structures and shops which have been meticulously preserved and restored to their former appearance. Your deluxe ticket includes the shuttle transportation, which will allow you to take your time, and get on and off the shuttle bus at will.

Day 4 - MONTICELLO - This morning, we depart Williamsburg and drive to Charlottesville, Virginia for a delicious included buffet lunch at Michie Tavern. Michie Tavern is one of the oldest homesteads remaining in Virginia dating from 1784. Next, we visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home from 1770 until his death. The tour includes the principal rooms of the house, which contain the statesman’s furniture and personal effects. His tomb is on the estate.We overnight in Lexington, Virginia.

Day 5 - HOME - This morning we make our way homeward, warmed by the many wonderful memories of our time in the Colonial era. Meals: 4B and 1L
