**Our cruises are a wonderful time to explore the ship and ports on your own. This is a vacation opportunity that allows you to enjoy your time at sea without a set schedule or guides. Your time is your own. Please also note that cruise booking will not include your on-board tips and shore excursions.
While Canada and New England may not spring to mind when you think of cruise destinations, they should — because the perfect way to experience this naturally gorgeous, history-packed region is to arrive by sea. Back when ships were how people traveled — but weren’t as much fun as today — ports like Halifax, Boston and Saint John were some of the most important, and they are yours to explore on this cruise to Canada and New England. Dating back to the 17th century, they today continue to retain much of their old charm… and have developed a few new tricks in the centuries since. Find out what makes this part of the world so special on a Carnival Cruise to Canada and New England.
Day 1 – HAGERSTOWN, MARYLAND – Feel the anticipation build as we board our deluxe Shockey Tours motorcoach and travel to Hagerstown, Maryland to overnight.
Day 2 – NEW YORK CITY TOUR – SEACAUCUS, NEW JERSEY – After an included breakfast, we travel to New York City. We will have an opportunity to see what the “Big Apple” is all about as we enjoy a City Tour with a local step on guide. Our hotel accommodations for this evening will be in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Day 3 – BOARD CRUISE SHIP – After an included breakfast, we will drive to the dock and transfer to our Carnival Sunrise Cruise Ship. We’ll have the entire evening to get acquainted with our new home away from home.
Day 4 – BOSTON – Explore the “Athens of America,” Boston. See world-class art museums, blooming public parks, ivy-adorned universities, and historic neighborhoods fill the eminently walkable, dynamic city that sparked the American Revolutionary War. Pass through a thicket of skyscrapers downtown towards quiet neighborhoods of cobblestone lanes on your Boston port of call.
Day 5 – PORTLAND, MAINE – Walk Maine’s largest city and follow in the footsteps of your fellow seafarers, past and present in Portland. Perched on green bluffs overlooking Casco Bay, Portland is a place where lobstermen still ply the briny Maine seas and wooden fishing boats chug through the harbor. Portland cruises pull into a modern-day seaport of sleek high-rises towering over a revitalized Old Port area, alive with brewpubs, restaurants, and shops.
Day 6 – FUN DAY AT SEA – This is a relaxing day at sea, where you can enjoy a day dedicated to exploring this majestic vessel. Savor the excitement of the Promenade decks – a playground of theaters, lounges, boutiques, and restaurants. How do you define relaxation? Begin by lounging by the pool, then take an opportunity to soak in a first class Jacuzzi. If you prefer more activity, you won’t be disappointed. The ship is outfitted with a fully-equipped gym, aerobics classes, personal trainers, court sports and jogging tracks circling the ship. After you’ve spent all of your energy, you can pamper yourself in the full-service salon. When the sun sets, the action begins. Each evening is filled with the excitement of entertaining shows, Las Vegas-style revues, a lively casino and dancing to music playing in the nightclubs and lounges throughout the ship.
Day 7 – ST. JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK –. Nestled between nature parks and the powerful currents of the Bay of Fundy, Saint John is the province of New Brunswick’s largest city and its most important port. Set out from your Carnival cruise into Downtown, with its Victorian-era architecture and bustling central market. Your ship anchors in the Bay of Fundy, where you’ll spot seals and shorebirds from the trail, your kayak, or from an observation tower. Whether you take to the trails for a hike or just take some time off in town, your cruise to Saint John is bound to be one you won’t soon forget.
Day 8 – HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA – Your first look at Halifax, Nova Scotia is from across the enormous natural harbor that also hosts the verdant George’s Island. Ships have arrived at this key Atlantic seaport just like this for centuries, including both the million immigrants who passed through in the 1900s, as well as the Halifax salvage boats recovering wreckage from the Titanic. Besides a modern city abuzz with museums and shops, you’ll find a massive fort overlooking the waterfront and idyllic villages for postcard-perfect nature walks.
Day 9 – FUN DAY AT SEA – This will be our last day at sea before saying goodbye to this magnificent ship. Take time to enjoy the serenity, as our cruise is winding down and all too soon we’ll have to return to our busy daily lives.
Day 10 – DISEMBARK SHIP – Our journey comes to a close as we cruise into the New York Harbor and disembark the ship. We travel to Hagerstown, Maryland, where we overnight.
Day 11 – HOME – After an included breakfast, we drive home, reminiscing about the fantastic times we’ve enjoyed together on our marvelous cruise. Meals: 3B and All Meals on Board Cruise Ship.
